Lakoff and Ferguson support this claim by using hard evidence to demonstrate the nation is framing immigration by using the illegal frame, the security frame, and the economic frame. The authors argue that when the nation uses the word â€Å"illegal immigrant†, the nation is framing immigrants as criminals.
